Home Business Marketing Tips
There are so many different ways to make money from home but if you don’t know how to get your service/goods in front of people you are unlikely to make any money…no matter how good your product is. In this article I’m going to go over some of my top home business marketing tips to help you get more exposure online.
Home Business Marketing Tip #1
Set up a blog. Blogging is popular for many good reasons. First of all, it’s really user-friendly to create new pages and posts so you don’t have to be technical to use it. Secondly, Google loves blogs because they are usually updated frequently, so if you have a blog Google will check it regularly for new content making it far easier for you to appear in search results without any technical know-how. And last of all, blogs allow your visitors to communicate with you building some “social proof” for your home business, giving you valuable feedback and creating a community on your site.
Set up a blog and write content that your target market will appreciate, that will help them solve a problem. If you give them value, you build up trust with them and they will be much more likely to buy from you.
Home Business Marketing Tip #2
Build a list. No matter what kind of business you are in, you need to build a list of potential clients/team members that you communicate with regularly. These are called “leads”. By actually collecting your visitors name and email address when they visit your site (by offering a free gift like a PDF with ‘Top 5 Tips For XYZ”) you can now keep in touch with your prospects long after they have left your site. For home business marketing this is great, because it means that you can have less traffic coming to your site, but be making more sales because you are communicating with the list you have built.
You can use a service like Aweber to start building your list by putting a simple form (I suggest an inline form and a pop up form) on your blog to collect leads.
Home Business Marketing Tip #3
Use Facebook to connect with your prospects.
Last night I was on a training webinar and someone said “No offence, but I left high school the moment I graduated. I’m not about to go and try to sell to friends I haven’t heard from in 20 years!” – This is definitely not what Facebook is about. For home business marketing, Facebook is an incredibly inexpensive, yet powerful way to connect with a very target group of people. By using business pages (fan pages) you can keep your personal profile and your business activities totally separate. The great thing about Facebook is that you can really attract people that are interested in what you have to offer, people are far more relaxed on Facebook (they have their ‘buying guard’ down) and it has the potential to grow VIRALLY.
When you create a thriving community on Facebook your business will grow through ‘virtual word-of-mouth’ bringing in new traffic for your website, more leads and higher conversions to sales.
